PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAM (PHP)
Recovery Ways Idaho’s partial hospitalization program offers individuals a structured, intensive level of mental health care while allowing them to return home each evening. PHP is designed for those who need more support than standard outpatient services can provide but do not require overnight residential care. Our program includes individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and case management, all delivered by a skilled clinical team committed to each person’s well-being. With personalized treatment plans, collaborative goal-setting, and a compassionate approach, Recovery Ways Idaho meets each individual where they are on their path to mental wellness.
Medication management within our PHP is overseen by our in-clinic Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), who works in close collaboration with each client’s primary therapist to develop individualized medication plans aligned with therapeutic goals and overall well-being, ensuring a fully integrated approach to mental health care.

What Is a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
A partial hospitalization program is a structured, daytime treatment option designed for individuals who need more intensive mental health support than traditional outpatient care provides. Unlike inpatient treatment, PHP does not require clients to stay overnight at a facility. Instead, individuals participate in several hours of programming each day and return home in the evenings, maintaining their connections to family, community, and daily life. PHP is well-suited for those managing moderate to severe mental health challenges who benefit from daily clinical contact, therapeutic structure, and consistent oversight from a multidisciplinary team.
At Recovery Ways Idaho, our partial hospitalization program is tailored to each person’s specific needs and circumstances. Our clinical team delivers comprehensive mental health services including individual and group therapy, medication management, and case management. Whether PHP is a first step toward stability or a transition from a higher level of care, our team is here to provide the structure, support, and clinical expertise needed to move forward.
What a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Can Do for Mental Health
A partial hospitalization program provides individuals with a consistent, evidence-based framework for addressing mental health disorders and building long-term stability. The structured daily schedule helps clients develop practical coping skills, process challenges in real time with clinical support, and apply therapeutic tools within the context of their everyday lives. Because clients return home each evening, they are able to practice these skills in real-world settings while still receiving the level of care that meaningful progress requires.
Recovery Ways Idaho’s PHP brings together individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and case management under one coordinated treatment approach. Each client’s plan is developed collaboratively with their clinical team, ensuring that goals, timelines, and interventions reflect their unique experiences and needs. For individuals covered by Regence, or Blue Cross Federal, St. Luke’s Health Plan, our partial hospitalization program provides the professional care and compassionate guidance to make that possible.
